Fort Pulaski National Monument

Fort Pulaski is remembered as the site, where for the first time in history, the new military invention – Rifled Cannon was used to bring down the once unbeatable fort. It was a revolutionary achievement considering the technology and the grade of weapons used during the civil war in 1862.

The entrance fee for the monument is US $5 per person for 16 years and above. Entry for kids who are 15 years or below is free.  The park and the monument stays opened round the year. Just the monument stays closed during Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Tybee Island Lighthouse Museum

Tybee Island Lighthouse has guided mariners safely into the Savannah River for over 270 years. If you’re ok climbing some 178 steps, then Tybee Island Lighthouse Museum is the one worth visiting. It offers awesome views of the island, the Atlantic Ocean and the Savannah River basin.

Cockspur Lighthouse

Cockspur Lighthouse is not to be missed if you have a love affair with old beautiful architectural feats. This lighthouse is old and looks as if sitting right on the ocean. You can get a great view of the lighthouse from Fort Pulaski.
